Staggered Start for 4K and Kindergarten

Children in 4K and 5K Kindergarten classes will begin school on a staggered start for the 2026-2027 school year.  The purpose of a staggered start is to allow students who are in the early stages of experiencing school to be exposed to school-wide and classroom expectations in a small group. This transition will allow for the first day with their entire class to operate smoothly. A staggered start will also allow the teacher to begin building relationships with his/her students and complete required beginning of the year assessments with each student in a more manageable environment.

4K and 5K students will attend just one day of school on either Tuesday, August 4th or Wednesday, August 5th.  Then all students will attend school on Thursday, August 6th.  Teachers will communicate with parents/guardians after July 27th to schedule what day of the week their child will attend school and review other details about the staggered start procedures.
